Compensation for Research Participation
It may be appropriate to offer some compensation for an individual's time in a research project and as a gesture of thanks for their contribution. Compensation should be at a level that is not excessive (so that it will not act as an inducement) and participants need to know
- If compensation is offered
- What are the expectations in terms of when they will receive it
- That this is compensation for travel costs/time etc it is not a benefit of the research.
